Chemical industry

There are very many diverse uses for PRAESTOL® flocculantes in the chemical industry, depending on the production program. These are just a few examples:

• Recovery of process water

• Clarification of wastewater containing oil or other emulsified organics after preliminary demulsification with acidic salts and, if necessary, neutralization with lime, caustic soda etc.

• Clarification of leaching liquor and of circulation solutions, e. g. phosphoric acid, sulphuric acid, solutions of decomposed ilmenite, red mud clarification, brine softening prior to chlor-alkali electrolysis, including extreme pH conditions

• Clarification of leaching liquors in hydrometallurgical processes, e. g. recovery of uranium and prior to the electrolytic recovery of copper and zinc

• Dewatering of slurries from leaching processes, e. g. in horizontal vacuum plate or pan filters

• Clarification, washing and filtration of suspended solids from pigment or dyestuff manufacturing

• Mechanical dewatering of sludges from mechanical or biological wastewater plants, e. g. on belt presses or in (high-performance) centrifuges
